📖 Terms and Conditions
The agreement for accessing HomeCare, creating an account, booking services, using the wallet and interacting with customers, HomeCare Pros and support.
1. About these Terms
HomeCare is a working name. Before paid launch, the Platform will identify the Nigerian legal entity operating the HomeCare website, applications and services (“HomeCare”, “we”, “us”). These Terms apply to visitors, customers, authorized household contacts and HomeCare Pros where relevant. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use a paid service.
2. The HomeCare service
HomeCare provides technology and operations for requesting, pricing, scheduling, funding and managing general residential cleaning and approved add-ons. General cleaning includes light organization and tidying of ordinary visible items within each booked room, but not room redesign, reorganization, decluttering decisions, moving belongings between rooms or moving heavy objects. Services are delivered by approved cleaning professionals working through HomeCare (“HomeCare Pros”) under HomeCare’s operating standards. Availability depends on area, capacity, verification, property suitability and payment. Nothing displayed guarantees that a particular HomeCare Pro, date or time will be available until confirmed.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement.
- A customer provides an accurate full name, Nigerian phone number and service address. HomeCare does not require a customer selfie or government ID to book ordinary cleaning.
- HomeCare Pros complete the identity, live-selfie, reference, work and payout checks required for their role.
- A payment provider may separately request bank or identity information for an optional funding account, withdrawal or another regulated payment feature. HomeCare shows that request before the customer chooses whether to continue.
- Keep sign-in codes, devices and start PINs secure. Tell support promptly about suspected unauthorized access.
- You are responsible for activity authorized through your account and for household contacts you permit to approve access or starts.
- One person may not create duplicate or false accounts to obtain rewards, avoid restrictions or misrepresent identity.
4. Quotes, bookings and property information
- Prices are based on declared spaces, add-ons, frequency and timing. Travel is included for covered addresses.
- A quote is an estimate until the customer details, address, property configuration, date and payment are accepted.
- Count every room in the main home and any BQ or annex using the same space counters. A BQ bedroom is an additional bedroom; its bathroom, kitchen and other rooms go in their matching counters.
- Select the highest floor included in the clean using Nigerian numbering: 0 for Ground, 1 for First, 2 for Second and so on.
- You must disclose the total rooms, highest floor to clean, property condition, pets, hazards and access restrictions.
- A confirmed recurring schedule reserves capacity but each visit must be funded separately.
- If the onsite property differs, work pauses before start while HomeCare offers a revised quote, reduced documented scope or cancellation.
5. Payments, wallet, bills and rewards
A customer may fund the HomeCare wallet or pay for cleaning directly by card or bank transfer. A card can be linked only after express permission and a successful Paystack payment; it can be removed from the app. HomeCare stores masked card information and the provider authorization needed for future payments, not the card number, PIN, CVV or OTP. Payment processing, bills, saved beneficiaries, electricity reminders, referral awards and wallet use follow the Wallet and Rewards Terms. Booking secures the displayed next-visit amount. Only customer-authorized start captures the service charge; HomeCare Pro confirmation alone cannot charge it. HomeCare Pros may pay supported bills from settled earnings without changing assignment-pay records. Reward value is promotional, non-transferable and not withdrawable as cash.
6. Home access and start approval
- An adult customer or authorized contact must provide lawful and safe access.
- The customer must compare the arriving person with the verified HomeCare Pro profile before sharing the one-time PIN.
- PIN approval confirms the HomeCare Pro’s identity, property access and agreed scope, then starts the visit.
- Do not leave a HomeCare Pro responsible for children, dependent adults, pets, keys, vehicles or property unrelated to the booked service unless HomeCare has expressly approved it.
7. Acceptable use and conduct
- Use the Platform only for lawful residential services and truthful communications.
- Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, surveil improperly or endanger another person.
- Do not request prohibited, sexual, illegal, hazardous or undisclosed work.
- Do not interfere with the Platform, introduce malicious code, scrape protected data, impersonate another person or misuse intellectual property.
- Do not manipulate referrals, rewards, reviews, wallets, refunds, arrival evidence or support processes.
8. Off-platform arrangements and HomeCare Pro protection
Customers and HomeCare Pros introduced through HomeCare must keep related cleaning, payment and future service arrangements on the Platform. A customer may not offer private cleaning, permanent household work, personal payment or another arrangement intended to take an introduced HomeCare Pro away from HomeCare. A HomeCare Pro may not solicit or accept it. HomeCare Pros can report an offer privately. A report is an allegation, not proof: Operations must review available evidence and record a substantiated decision before any action. A first confirmed customer attempt receives a formal warning; a repeat confirmed attempt results in account suspension. No one may secretly record conversations inside a customer’s home.
9. Cancellations, complaints and service recovery
Cancellations, no-access cases, refunds, re-cleans, incidents and damage reports follow the displayed policies. Missed booked work must be reported from the linked completed visit within 24 hours. If a re-clean is approved, HomeCare offers capacity-controlled return slots within the next 48 hours. Submit other complaints through in-app support with the booking reference and available evidence. HomeCare may inspect visit records, messages, timestamps, checklists and authorized media to reach a proportionate decision.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using HomeCare and request account deletion subject to unresolved visits, balances, disputes and legally required retention. HomeCare may restrict or suspend an account to investigate fraud, safety risk, non-payment, abusive conduct, repeated property mismatch, policy breach or unlawful activity. Where safe and lawful, we will explain the reason and available review route.
11. Platform availability and third parties
Maps, identity checks, messaging, payments, bill services and hosting may rely on third-party providers with their own terms. HomeCare works to keep the Platform available but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may maintain, change or withdraw features while protecting confirmed bookings and balances under applicable law.
12. Intellectual property
The HomeCare name, product design, software, text, graphics and service materials are owned by or licensed to the Platform operator. Users receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Platform for its intended purpose. User-provided content remains the user’s, while the user permits HomeCare to use it as needed to operate, protect and improve the service under the Privacy Notice.
13. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that Nigerian law does not permit us to exclude, including liability for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. To the extent permitted by law, HomeCare is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, unauthorized use caused by a user’s failure to protect access, or loss caused by inaccurate or undisclosed property information. Any proposed monetary cap and damage-claims process will be finalized after Nigerian legal and insurance review and shown before paid launch.
14. Events outside reasonable control
HomeCare is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events reasonably outside its control, including severe weather, widespread transport disruption, utility failure, civil emergency, government action or major provider outage. We will use reasonable efforts to notify affected users and offer available recovery options.
15. Privacy
The Privacy Notice explains personal-data collection, lawful bases, use, sharing, security, retention and user rights under applicable Nigerian data-protection law. Safety and support communications may be retained to prevent fraud, protect people and resolve disputes.
16. Changes and version control
We may update these Terms and policies for future use. Material changes will be dated and communicated as required. The versions accepted for a confirmed booking remain attached to that booking unless a change is legally required or the user expressly accepts a replacement.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Users should first contact HomeCare support so the issue can be investigated in good faith. If it is not resolved, the parties may use any agreed lawful dispute process or the courts with jurisdiction in Nigeria. Consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected.
18. General provisions
If a competent authority finds part of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. Headings aid reading and do not change meaning. The Terms, confirmed booking, Visit Brief and incorporated policies form the agreement for the service; a visit-specific confirmed term controls over a general summary where they conflict.
19. Contact
Questions and complaints may be submitted through HomeCare support. The operator’s registered name, address, support email and data-protection contact will be inserted here before public paid launch.
